Netsurion to Merge With EventTracker in Managed Security Marriage

Merger

Two managed security companies are merging.

Netsurion's Kevin WatsonNetsurion, which provides security for multi-location networks, and EventTracker, which is known for security information and event management (SIEM), will continue to operate as separate brands under a parent company led by Netsurion CEO Kevin Watson. A.N. Ananth will continue to serve as EventTracker’s CEO.

Watson said the two companies complement each other and can better protect their customers together. He said more network breaches have necessitated SIEM security lately.

“Unfortunately, many small and multilocation businesses cannot afford and do not have the knowledge to manage such complex systems,” he said in a Thursday announcement. “Providing a managed network security service coupled with a managed SIEM product will enable us to best protect our clients from current and emerging threats.”

Both companies sell through the channel, and Watson said their resellers and MSPs will now get access to a deeper portfolio. He said upcoming product releases will introduce EventTracker SIEM services into Netsurion’s market.{ad}

“We believe this SIEM-at-the-edge capability will be unique in the market and will allow our partners to provide a level of security to their customers that was previously unaffordable to this huge segment of the market,” Watson told Channel Partners. “We will also be announcing a fully automated breach detection service specifically targeting MSPs, that looks numerous high risk events and automatically alerts the customer and the MSP on the occurrence of one or more of these triggers.”

Netsurion has locations in Florida, Texas and Missouri, and EventTracker is headquartered in Maryland.
