With Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) divesting its non-core software assets, Actiance is launching a program to help customers move from HP Autonomy to its Alcatraz cloud archive.

Actiance's Scott WhitneyWith Actiance’s HP Autonomy Safe Landing Program, HP Autonomy customers can “easily transition to Alcatraz and continue to meet their existing retention and compliance policies, while extending to an archive that natively supports new analytics workloads,” the company said. HP Autonomy is HPE’s information governance offering.

Scott Whitney, Actiance’s senior vice president of product, tells Channel Partners that many HP Autonomy customers have already reported a “slowing of the product road map prior to the divestiture announcement.”

“These customers represent a gain in available market as they are all looking to refresh their archive infrastructures to meet today’s requirements for new content types, increased regulatory surveillance and need to seamlessly integrate with downstream applications beyond compliance,” he said. “The Soft Landing Program lowers the cost of migration for the customer and the partner. The program’s no-cost health checks allow the partner to participate in the identification of customer challenges to build business justification, and the non-cost accelerated policy migration allows the partner to participate in the design and migration process to map existing Autonomy policies into Alcatraz as the go-forward archive.”{ad}

Alcatraz is a web-scale cloud archive designed from the ground up to store email and social communications in context, Actiance said. It delivers eDiscovery, supervisory/surveillance workflows, and analytics with insights on what’s being captured.

With this program, organizations using HP Autonomy will have access to: annual service credits to offset migration costs; access to the Policy Migration Wizard that converts retention, legal hold and supervision policies; a no-cost health check for migration planning; and free training programs for end-users, legal and supervisory staff.

The program is available to HP Autonomy customers now.

“Customers trapped in legacy platforms need a way to securely transfer historical data to an archive for ongoing maintenance as well as secure storage as data volume continues to grow,” said Angela Gelnaw, senior research analyst at IDC.

Actiance customers manage more than 500 million daily conversations across 80 channels and growing.
