AT&T’s Mobility City at Channel Partners Evolution Features Samsung, Others

CHANNEL PARTNERS EVOLUTION — Mobility City, one of a number of immersive “experience areas” making their debuts in the Channel Partners Evolution expo hall this week, showcases numerous pieces that partners can add to their mobility portfolios. And for those wanting to start a mobility practice, this place is a great start.

The team from Samsung Business is making its Channel Partners event debut this week in Evolution's Mobility City.Mobility City is sponsored by AT&T and features kiosks hosted by various mobility players in the industry.

Meredith Caram, executive director of AT&T Partner Exchange, said that with Mobility City, “solution providers can start to open their minds and see how to really have this business conversation and how the ecosystem really works together.”

The cutting-edge technology on display includes a Samsung smartphone that unlocks by reading the user’s eyes. Samsung Business America, making its debut at a Channel Partners event, is showing off its Galaxy Note 7 and its Knox security platform.

“Part of our story is the flexibility with the platform that we offer, so we have a full set of APIs that any of these solution partners can tie into, to develop to,” John Kenney, Samsung senior sales engineer, told us. “So we have a whole ecosystem called Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program that allows developers to tie into our hardware and take advantage of what we have. That’s part of the Knox platform as well. It extends the flexibility of the device up to developers, specifically application providers. From an application perspective, it’s a great building block.”{ad}

Also among the exhibitors is rev.io, a billing-as-a-service platform provider for resellers that don’t have a billing platform.

“Our software provides the full end-to-end billing and CRM,” said Thaddeus Rolle, rev.io sales team lead. “It’s completely SaaS, so it’s hosted CRM where clients can have a solution that’s up and running, and ready to be used within a two-to three-month period. Billing’s not easy and companies, service providers, are looking for a software that they can integrate to very easily, very quickly, and looking for someone who has experience in the industry and will help them.”

Data2Go Wireless also is exhibiting at Mobility City to show partners how easy it is to get into M2M and Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

“A lot of people are scared of the complexities of it, but what we’ve done is we’ve put together programs for the agent and channel communities that streamline the process and make it easy for them to go out and sell business where we help them support it on the back end,” said Robert Senatore, Data2Go’s president and COO/managing member. “We create efficiencies in people’s business.”
