XO Communications has unveiled SIPack, a new services that delivers session initiated protocol (SIP)-based voice service over a private, dedicated connection.

SIPack includes features to deliver “call quality, control, reliability and business continuity/redundancy,” XO said.

Dave Farmer, XO spokesperson, said SIPack is available to the company’s partners.{ad}

“SIPack is a simplified SIP product that is now offered in pre-set, configured packages that include a range of speeds and other features,” he said. “SIPack is expected to also reduce installation and change order intervals.”

XO says SIP benefits businesses because the service uses IP network technology to provide a “more secure, lower cost and scalable multimedia communications experience.” Businesses can accelerate the transition from older voice technology and create a platform to facilitate a more comprehensive communications experience for employees and customers.

For businesses with multiple locations, SIPack allows IT pros to manage call flows and ensure business communications continuity. Paired with the XO MPLS IP-VPN network, SIPack offers customers integrated voice and Internet connectivity to all of their office locations, the company said.

“Business are seeking economical ways to boost productivity through their communications networks while ensuring continuity of service,” said Jake Heinz, XO’s senior vice president of marketing and product. “XO SIPack combines voice and data over a private network connection, allowing businesses to protect vital information while maintaining network quality and reliability.”
