Metalogix Reboots Partner Program

MICROSOFT WPC — Metalogix, a Microsoft ISV partner, on Monday launched the Metalogix Advanced Partner Program (MAPP). The significantly altered program offers enablement, tools and benefits for serious Microsoft solution providers willing to up their ante to earn certified partner status; the first tier is what will eventually become a multi-tiered program.

Up until now, Metalogix, an ISV dedicated to Microsoft’s cloud strategy, has had referral partners and reseller partners. But with MAPP, a certification and enablement program, the vendor is looking to entice a portion of its 300 global partners to move from standard to certified status. Certification through the Metalogix Academy was open to all partners but hasn’t been required until now.

“MAPP will be an exclusive designation, an elite status within our partner community,” according to Joe Sullivan, director of alliances at Metalogix.

The ISV is offering the Metalogix Business-in-a-Box to help MAPP partners perform SharePoint and Office 365 migrations — the first pillar of the MAPP program. Management and security are the additional pillars to roll out later this year.{ad}

MAPP partners get the benefits open to all Metalogix partners: access to Metalogix Academy; partner portal; margin on resell; referral fees; use of logo; and exposure on the ISV’s website. But they also get access to Migration Business-in-a-Box assets, managed partner status, participation in the company’s Strategic Business Services (SBS) program, joint business planning and enhanced partner support. Expect marketing and lead-generation support as well.

The Business-in-a-Box a starter kit includes training and content and deliverables – such as PowerShell scripts and sample code, pre-migration assessment tools, analysis tools and guidelines, whitepapers and best practices, sample project plans and a sample statement of work. It is designed to help partners accelerate their ability to create solutions built on the Metalogix portfolio and build a repeatable Metalogix solution practice, Sullivan said.

In preparation for growing MAPP, the ISV has beefed up its partner management team, Sullivan told us.

“We’re also going to give these elite partners escalated and enhanced access to our support lines,” he added.

Metalogix doesn’t have its own internal professional services team but instead relies on partners to deliver the necessary services.
