Semafone Promotes N.A. Channel Chief to Global SVP

Semafone this week announced the promotion of channel veteran Margie Frasier to the role of senior vice president, global partnerships and alliances.

Semafone's Margie FrasierFrasier brings to the position more than 20 years of channel sales and technology experience in the telecommunications industry. She will be responsible for managing strategic alliances and building new global partnerships. She also will focus on increasing partner enablement and launching the company’s international partner program. Semafone provides secure payment software for contact centers.

Frasier tells Channel Partners that Semafone has a hybrid channel model, and its partner ecosystem is a mix of technology companies, hosted service providers, system integrators and payment service providers.

“We forge long-term strategic alliances with technology companies who share our vision for securing sensitive data to protect brand and company reputations,” she said. “We are creating a partner program that will focus on partner engagement and enablement; this will include both global players and local in country/regional organizations. My goal is to greatly expand our revenue potential through our channels as we grow internationally.”{ad}

Semafone said Frasier’s appointment underlies the company’s high-growth expectations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. She joined Semafone in November 2015 and previously was vice president of channel sales for North America.

“As the United States and other countries are migrating to chip and pin (implementation of Europay, Mastercard and Visa, or EMV), there is a noticeable rise in [card-not-present] fraud where some analysts are predicting losses associated with such fraud of more than $6.5 billion in the United States by 2018,” Frasier said. “Increasing awareness of the importance of removing all sensitive card data from the contact center using Semafone’s … technology is a challenge that can be met not only through our own direct sales and marketing initiatives, but by enabling the right partnerships and channels to allow us to spread the message and support our implementations globally.  We have already experienced this success in the United Kingdom, where EMV has been implemented for quite some time.”

Before joining Semafone, Frasier was global alliance manager at Acme Packet, and spent several years with Nortel Networks and Shiva (acquired by Intel).

Globally headquartered in the United Kingdom, Semafone has a client base spanning 14 countries on five continents. It recently opened its first U.S. office.

“Margie’s deep understanding of the telecom and enterprise technology industries will aid Semafone in achieving our ambitious growth plans, worldwide,” said Tim Critchley, Semafone’s CEO. “I am confident that her experience working with a broad range of global service providers and enterprises, when combined with her technical knowledge, will translate to broad adoption of both Semafone’s philosophy and technology for safeguarding sensitive personal data and reducing the reputational risk of a data breach.”
