IGEL Technology, which develops workspace-management software, has hired Jed Ayres as president and CEO in North America, effective June 1.

IGEL Technology's Jed Ayres“[Ayres’] proven track record for developing innovative and high-growth marketing and partner programs across the IT hardware, software, supply chain and services segments will prove invaluable to our organization as we continue to invest in modernizing our market approach and identifying new and innovative ways in which to further promote the success of our growing network of IGEL Authorized Partners throughout the region,” said Heiko Gloge, founder and managing director, IGEL Technology.

Ayres most recently was senior vice president, Worldwide Marketing, at AppSense, before it was acquired by LanDesk last month. He is credited with the transformation of AppSense’s digital marketing, social media, public relations and analyst relations programs. Of note to partners, he also drove efforts to unify AppSense’s global channel program and increased the company’s investment in marketing programs for its top partners — resulting in a double-digit increase in sales.

“It is an exciting time to be joining IGEL Technology, with IT organizations of all sizes demanding software-based workspace management solutions that make it easier and more cost-effective for workers to gain quick and secure access to critical business applications from their desktops,” said Ayres. “IGEL is singularly focused on delivering the most powerful, flexible and secure desktops, and their technology leadership coupled with their Channel First Partner Led strategy is creating tremendous opportunities for channel partners to grow their businesses and increase revenues. I’m looking forward to leading the IGEL team in building stronger relationships within the North American IT channel, and developing new tools and resources that will help to further drive the success of our mutual customers.”{ad}

Before his stint at AppSense, Ayres spent more than 20 years in senior leadership roles with MCPc, MTM Technologies and GE Capital IT Solutions.

Ayres’ goals include expanding the marketing programs that IGEL provides to its channel partners, and developing new programs that will be used to increase margins and grow sales for the company’s software, software-based thin clients, and thin and zero-client solutions. The new North America boss also plans to strengthen IGEL’s relationships with Citrix, VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, Red Hat, Ingram Micro and Synnex.

IGEL Technology’s portfolio includes the Universal Management Suite (UMS), which offers standardized endpoint management, with the goal of enabling channel partners and their end-user customers to manage their workspace environments more efficiently, while reducing the cost, time and effort associated with remote endpoint management. With its Unified Management Agent (UMA), IGEL supports the administration of any terminal device running Windows 7 and Windows 10 through the UMS.
