The Alliance Taps Fonality for Cloud UC Growth, Video Collaboration

PRESS RELEASE — CHANNEL PARTNERS — The Alliance Partners (an Association Sponsor), the channel partner industry organization that brings together agents, VARs, managed service providers, IT consultants and cloud specialists, has revealed further details on its exclusive preferred provider relationship with Fonality (Booth 216).

Fonality has increased its commitment to the channel over the course of the past year, expanding its channel partner program significantly. It recently revealed that, in tandem, its unified communications as a service (UCaaS) and cloud VoIP phone systems saw record revenue growth and profitability for 2015, as it sold more than 22,000 new seats. The $45 million business phone system provider expects to see its growth continue to accelerate into 2016 and beyond as it ramps up its channel activities.

“Fonality, like the Alliance members themselves, has successfully harnessed the power of cloud-hosted services, transforming its business model in recent years,” said Bill Power, CEO of the Alliance. “Today, more than 85 percent of Fonality’s revenue comes from subscriptions, which is a big pivot for a company rooted in traditional PBX hardware sales. That’s why we’re so excited about our exclusive relationship.”{ad}

As part of its relationship with the Alliance, Fonality will sign no other new, direct regional or national master agent contracts for the rest of the year. Any new engagements with master agencies will be brokered and managed via the Alliance.

“Because Fonality offers a variety of deployment options, including public cloud, private cloud, Hybrid-Hosted® or even a combination of those options, we are uniquely positioned to appeal to master agents and the needs of their different customers,” said David Beagle, vice president of channel development at Fonality. “There is a significant opportunity for both Fonality and the member-agents to benefit from a relationship with the Alliance Partners.”

Alliance members will also benefit from advanced features, like the new video collaboration capabilities built into Fonality’s Heads Up Display (HUD). These just-launched options include meeting scheduling and management features, which are powered by Zoom, a leader in cloud-based video conferencing. Video Collaboration allows users to conduct interactive two-way audio and high-definition video meetings with screen sharing, chat, recording and more.

In August, the Alliance Partners announced an expansion of its Alliance Engage program, which connects telecom and IT providers with their agent networks through a series of portals. Through this program, a repository of information about Fonality, including sales sheets, case studies, white papers and current promotions or events, are now available to participating master agents and other members.

“Our member base represents a highly skilled and empowered channel with tremendous presence across the communications landscape,” said David Gardner, chairman of the Alliance board and president and CEO at Advantage Communications. “Coupling Fonality’s smart, flexible and unique suite of services, with the Alliance’s formidable distribution network of top master and direct agents nationwide, represents a huge win for customers and partners alike.”

About the Alliance
Since 1997, the Alliance (www.thealliancepartners.com), originally the Agent Alliance, has been a powerful voice for the channel. This diverse industry consortium of shareholders represents all industry sectors, from traditional communications to IT, cloud, storage and virtualization, mobility and converged IP services. The Alliance is dedicated to fostering best business practices nationwide for the channel ecosystem. It is an important forum for education, collaboration and information-sharing, aimed at helping channel partners evolve their practices to remain competitive. The Alliance is able to leverage the unique and diverse expertise of its formidable member roster to put knowledge into practice in highly pragmatic ways to create an environment of continuous growth and improvement, which benefits partners, suppliers and clients alike.

About Fonality
Founded in 2004, Fonality is the only provider to offer Alliance members the option to sell pure cloud, Hybrid-Hosted®, and on-premise business phone systems with the simplicity of one subscription model. This puts unparalleled flexibility in partners’ hands when moving customers to cloud-hosted VoIP with unified communications – removing a huge barrier to entry. That’s because Hybrid-Hosted means even customers in telecom contracts can take advantage of a hosted UC phone system while using existing phone circuits. The ease of adding recurring revenue is one of many reasons more than 600 partners have chosen Fonality. Others include high reliability and Heads Up DisplayTM, the company’s award-winning unified communications web and mobile software. HUD puts employee presence, powerful contact center capabilities, HD video and audio conferencing, voicemail transcription, and much more in users’ hands.
