New Westcon, Tech Data Distribution Deals Among New Industry Partnerships

InterCloud Systems is teaming with distributor Tech Data as it launches new managed services designed for cloud customers.

Tech Data VARs will be able to sell InterCloud’s new desktop-as-a-service offering aimed at mid-to-large enterprises. The two companies also have teamed to create several new service models for the EUC market, capitalizing on InterCloud’s experience with VMware and Citrix, as well as its cloud-to-cloud mobility expertise.

Another distribution deal of note features WestCon Group and security provider FireMon.

The FireMon Security Intelligence Platform includes network firewall configuration, policy and workflow.

“Data protection is a top priority … our Security Solutions Practice arms partners and their customers with not only the right tools, but the business solutions necessary to minimize this risk,” said Andrew Warren, VP of security solutions in North America, WestconGroup. “FireMon is a perfect addition to this strong portfolio, creating the framework necessary for companies to make intelligent, informed decisions that enact security countermeasures in real-time.”  

The Firemon platform helps IT teams proactively address pervasive security issues, providing them direct integration with a variety of firewall, network security and vulnerability-assessment products – as well as a flexible, RESTful API, the company said.

Yet another new industry partnership links Pulsar360, the SIP trunking and cloud PBX provider, with HTG Peer Groups, an international organization of IT solution-provider executives. The pair’s gold vendor-member program agreement lets HTG members resell Pulsar360’s entire line of telecom services, Internet bandwidth and last-mile connectivity.

Pulsar360 has a traditional channel program that offers custom billing options that allow partners to add services and non-recurring charges to the invoice and set their own margins for equipment. There are also wholesale and co-branded partner programs that give members private-label options and wholesale-provider profit margins.
