Pacnet Deploys 100Gbps Technology

Pacnet has deployed 100Gbps technology between Asia and the United States.

The upgrade means enterprise customers with intensive bandwidth requirements now can take advantage of services at 10Gbps, 40Gbps and 100Gbps.

Pacnet said its new backbone integrates subsea fiber and terrestrial backhaul links to support pure-packet technology and optical transport network (OTN) switching in the optical core. Ethernet is a supported access method and users may scale bandwidth as needed.

Earlier this week, Pacnet said it has signed Intelisys as its newest master agent. The carrier teamed with WTG in early 2013.
