Cisco Unveils Video Surveillance Manager

Cisco Systems this week unveiled Video Surveillance Manager (VSM) 7.0, for use in places such as college campuses, government buildings, hospitals and shopping malls.

The platform runs in Cisco’s virtualized Unified Computing System (UCS) environments. It supports applications including video recording and streaming. VSM also can handle up to 10,000 IP video surveillance cameras, and up to 100,000 cameras when used with Cisco’s Physical Security Operations Manager.

VSM has a number of other features and capabilities, as well, including remote management services.
