Qwest Exec Shuffle: Taylor Replaces Departing Richards

Qwest Communications International Inc. (Q) is doing the executive hokey-pokey today now that executive vice president and COO Tom Richards has resigned to head another company.

Teresa Taylor, who has served as executive vice president of Qwest’s Business Markets Group since last August, will succeed Richards, who is leaving to become president and COO of multibillion-dollar VAR CDW Corp. Richards used to head up sales for Qwest and presided over the indirect and direct sales channels. Taylor followed in Richards’ footsteps when Richards was promoted in July 2008 and is doing so again.

In addition to her Business Markets work, Taylor also led union negotiations with the Communications Workers of America and the IBEW.

Taylor now reports directly to Qwest CEO Ed Mueller. Christopher Ancell, previously vice president of sales in the Business Markets Group, is replacing Taylor.
