FCC May Investigate Wireless Industry

Wish you could have an iPhone without AT&T Inc. (T)? A lot of people do.

To that end, the FCC plans to vote this coming Thursday on an inquiry to investigate the wireless industry’s practices, including those governing exclusive deals and fee-setting.

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski has gone on record saying he thinks arrangements such as the one between Apple Inc. (AAPL) and AT&T dampen competition and inhibit customer choice.
