AT&T, Union Strike a Deal in West

AT&T and the Communications Workers of America have come up with a deal that covers 23,000 employees in Nevada and California.

The collective bargaining agreement, which covers AT&T’s core wireline workers, will likely be submitted for a vote later this week.

The contract for the Western Region expired back on April 4. Since then, employees have been working under the expired contract’s terms. Negotiations are still happening in many other regions around the country where contracts have expired. Those areas include the East and the Southwest.

Health care costs have been at the core of the disagreement nationwide.
