XO SIP Certified for Fonality PBXtra, trixbox Pro

XO Communications and Fonality announced Wednesday that Fonality PBXtra and trixbox Pro IP PBX phone systems have passed XO certification for standard interoperability with XO SIP integrated voice and data communications solution.

The interoperability of XO SIP with Fonality’s PBXtra and trixbox Pro phone systems assures businesses that deploying a Fonality IP PBX with XO SIP is a simple task. The certification process created by XO tested Fonality’s IP PBX in more than 400 real-world environment simulations to ensure maximum reliability.

Fonality’s PBXtra and trixbox Pro product lines are based on Fonality’s patent-pending Anywhere Management Hybrid-Hosted architecture, and deliver the advanced capabilities of an enterprise-class phone system for 40 to 80 percent less than traditional offerings.

Users that purchase native SIP from the XO network to the PBX avoid the cost of a gateway or PRI card to convert that signal. In addition, users get a converged voice and data service with free unlimited local calling and site-to-site calling (as long as all are on-net with XO.)

The XO SIP service also is priced by the port size – between 1.5 and 45mbps – not by the number of lines or simultaneous sessions. Users also pay for the calling plan or extra features. XO rolled out bandwidth-based pricing in January for its entire XO IPfolio, which includes XO IP Flex, XO SIP, XO One iPBX, XO MPLS IP-VPN, and XO IP Flex with VPN.

In addition to the Cisco UC 500, XO SIP is also interoperable with Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Call Manager Express, Avaya IP Office, Digium’s Asterisk Appliance 50 and Digium’s Switchvox.
