Union to Qwest: Thanks, But No Thanks

Qwest Communications International Inc. (Q) union workers have rejected a proposed new contract.

The news broke Tuesday evening and company executives, according to media reports, are baffled. That’s because Qwest and the union struck a three-year deal in August, just before the start of the Democratic National Convention.

What’s next? Union officials won’t say. Qwest is getting managers ready in case union workers walk off the job.
